About Us

We are a well established, busy GP practice located between Highgate and Kentish Town in North London.

We are committed to serving the health needs of our community of patients. We have a team of people at the practice with a wide range of skills and expertise including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, social prescribers, alcohol and drug workers and counsellors. Our administrative staff work closely with the doctors, nurses and pharmacists to ensure patients are seen by the right person at the right time. We are also fortunate to be heavily involved in training future generations of GPs and allied healthcare professionals. This may mean that from time to time you will be asked if you are willing to have trainees and students sitting in your consultations.

Registration

It is quick and easy to register with a GP using our simple online GP registration form. Whether you are new to the area or have never registered with a GP practice before, there is usually no need to come to the practice to complete your registration and no proof of address is required. We are a local GP Practice and have a catchment area for home visiting purposes, but we welcome patients from outside our practice boundary.

Consent and Confidentiality

We are sometimes asked about the rules/laws around consent and confidentiality for younger people. Confidentiality means that Doctors cannot talk to other people about what is going on for you and what you have told us without your explicit consent. This is a very important idea that we take very seriously. GPs have the same duty of confidentiality to young people as they have to other adults.  If you are in senior school but under 16 we will assume confidentiality rules apply except in very specific scenarios. Here is some information produced by a mental health charity that explores this some more: Information for 11-18 year olds on confidentiality and mental health - Mind

All young people over 16 are entitled to consent to their own treatment. This can only be overruled in exceptional circumstances. Young people under 16 can consent to their own treatment if they are believed to have enough intelligence, competence and understanding to fully appreciate what is involved in their treatment: Consent to treatment - Children and young people - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

We would often encourage people to speak to their parents and/or other close adults about what someone comes to see us about. However, the choice is yours as long as you understand the issues fully. Please do discuss this with your clinician should that seem helpful.
