Alcohol and Drugs Worker

If you are worried about your alcohol consumption or drug use please speak to one of the GP’s who can arrange for you to see our drugs and alcohol worker.

Antenatal care

Most of our patients have antenatal care at either the Royal Free Hospital, Whittington Hospital or University College Hospital.

If you find out you are pregnant you can refer yourself for care at one of the local hospitals via the following links

If you have more complex needs or concerns about your pregnancy please do make an appointment with a GP.

If you have concerns about your pregnancy in the early stages (for example abdominal pain or bleeding) you can self refer for an early scan and assessment.

Baby clinics/Health Visitors

Our clinical team meets regularly with our health visitor and school nurse colleagues.

All children under 5 have an assigned health visitor.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau run a session every Thursday for advice on debts, benefits, housing, employment, the law, relationships, consumer issues, family matters, health, education, discrimination and immigration.

Contraception and family planning

We offer cervical smears, sexual health screening and contraception.

Please make an appointment with our practice nurse (online or by calling reception). Alternatively you can fill in an econsult.

We offer insertion of LARC (long acting reversible contraception) including the mirena coil (IUS) and copper coil (IUD).  Please arrange an appointment via reception to discuss this further.

Counselling

We are fortunate to have a counselling provision at the practice. We have two counsellors who can offer 6 sessions of therapy. Please speak to a GP to discuss referral.

Minor Surgery

Dr Johnston can perform minor surgical procedures at the practice. Please check with a GP if your condition will be suitable for this service.

Postnatal care

We would like to meet you and your new baby 6-8 weeks after birth.

We try to link this with the baby’s first immunisations with the practice nurse.  The GP will examine the baby and also check if you are recovering from the birth.

Psychological therapies

You can self-refer yourself to our psychology service which is called iCope.

Self refer with iCope

This service is staffed by psychological wellbeing practitioners and therapists who offer evidence based therapies including CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) for conditions such as low mood and anxiety. The team can also link and signpost you to other services.

Travel advice

Our nurses offer advice about travel vaccinations. Please make an appointment at least 6 weeks before you intend to travel. There is a charge for some vaccinations required solely for travel overseas.
